Deep and intense ruby colour. Blueberry, vanilla pod and violet aromas. Dark fruits fill the senses, plush in texture but have a lightness of touch that belies the intensity. Subtle oak sings at the edges but the sense of place is strong with this wine. Ferrous, iodine and bloody notes are the savoury characters that really draw you in with a seamless integration of all the parts. Tannins are silken but driving, length prodigious and pleasure off the scale. I’d be hard pressed not to drink it now but cellaring will add even more to the experience Stuart Knox 99 Points The Real Review 06 Feb 2025

Vineyard Notes
The grapes for the Hoffmann Dallwitz single vineyard wine are sourced from the renowned Dallwitz Block, which was largely planted between 1888 and 1912, and more specifically rows 25-30 of the “younger” 70+ year old vines. The best parcel and barrels of the year are reserved for this release.
Winemaking
The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved the minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered.
