Deep, crystalline, bright ruby red colour shines in the glass. Ripe blueberry, mocha and roasting pan aromatics. Deep, dark and dense with powerful black and blue fruits setting a prodigious base on which to build layers of black spice, aged beef and wakame complexity. Tannins are a world unto themselves, carrying that density and power with their own intensity and drive. Fine and gravelly but never overreaching, they ensure a length that is almost never-ending but there's clarity and tension right at the end. Hard not to drink immediately but will offer immense rewards over time Stuart Knox 98 Points The Real Review 06 Feb 2025

Vineyard Notes
The source block for the d'Or is not limited to any one vineyard, however the grapes for this wine were sourced from the Wilksch Vineyard in Greenock. The vines are approaching 100 years of age and prodcue exceptional quality year after year.
Winemaking
The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved the minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered.
