2021 Becker Vyd Koonunga Shiraz SV907
The grapes were sourced from Becker Vineyard – Mt Charles block in the Koonunga sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Four generations of the Becker Family owned the small vineyard until it was recently purchased by the Hoffmann family. The exact age of the vines in this block has been lost but understood to be between 70 and 80 years old. The volume produces is limited to the annual yield of this small parcel.
The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered.
